AAIM's Automobile Damage Appraisal course offers the most comprehensive examination preparation course for those who want to obtain their Automobile Appraiser License.
Our instructors combine real-world experience with classroom knowledge to prepare you
to be successful in taking the state exam. the course meets twice a week, 3 hours per
night, for 10 weeks (60 hours). Throughout the program, students should expect to take several quizzes to demonstrate knowledge transfer.
Upon successful completion, each student receives a completion certificate.
This course is designed to prepare the student who has had at least two years auto body experience or comparable experience as a service technician to take the Commonwealth
of Massachusetts Automobile Damage Appraisers License Examination.
OUR INSTRUCTORS:
Paul Lashua, President A.A.I.M. -Paul is a graduate from the Franklin Institute of Automotive Technology. He is an accomplished Auto Damage Appraiser with over 35 years experience and an extensive background in investigations from his Military Police service and twenty years experience with Travelers Insurance as a Supervising Appraiser and was involved in organizing one of the first SIU units in Massachusetts.
Paul also worked with the Mass Anti Car Theft Committee, The Criminal Justice Training Council, National Auto Theft Bureau, (ICPI) as well as various other law enforcement agencies throughout New England as an instructor in insurance fraud.
In 1978 Paul took over as Auto Damage Appraisal Instructor at Curry College with. Paul made changes and enhancements in the curriculum, and over the next fourteen years taught this program. This program ended @ Curry in 1991.
Peter Smith, Vice President A.A.I.M. - Peter’s experience in the automotive started at a very early age in the family business and is culminated by his teaching background as an Auto Damage Instructor with Northeastern University. Peter has over 20 years experience in all phases of auto body repair including 8 years shop management experience. Peter is an ASE certified collision repair estimator and his technical background includes Chief frame and unibody instruction as well as various I-CAR training
and automotive refinishing classes. Peter also brings over 6 years experience appraising auto damage for a major insurance carrier including 3 years supervisory experience. Peter is a member of the Auto Damage Appraiser Licensing Board Sub-Committee and is actively involved in all phases of auto damage appraiser instruction and testing.
Greg Bedrosian, Instructor - Greg is an accomplished Auto Body Technician with over 30 years of experience in the industry. Greg's industry experience also includes years of appraising and supervising for a large north shore independent appraisal firm, as well as owning his own independent firm.
Greg is a full time Supervisor for a large Mass. insurance company. As part of his job function, as well as throughout Greg's career in the industry he has been actively involved in training and mentoring new appraisers. Greg's technical background includes various I-CAR training classes as well as Chief frame and unibody training. Greg is actively involved in all phases of auto damage instruction and testing.
Mike Dinsmore, Instructor - Mike attended Fitchburg State College where he graduated with a Bachelor's degree in business management. He began his automotive career as an auto body technician in 1979 as a college student. From there he worked his way through the auto body industry managing large collision shops from 1985 to 1998. He transitioned into the insurance industry in 1998 where he remains employed as an appraisal supervisor for the largest auto insurer in Massachusetts. Mike has a 31 years experience in the auto body and auto appraisal industry. He combines education and strong technical experience with years of management and appraisal experience. Mike is I-CAR Platinum certified and is an ASE Master Collision Technician.
Ed Jankowski, Instructor - Ed began his career in the Automotive Industry by graduating from The Automotive Technology program @ Bay Path Vocational School, graduating in 1982. Ed gained experience during his six year employment as a Certified Repair Technician at Heritage Ford in Charlton MA. Ed worked his way up to Associate Service Manager as well as a part time salesperson. His extensive technical knowledge, interpersonal communication skills, as well as his bi-lingual talents were recognized by management during his time at the dealership.
Ed continued his career with the largest insurer in MA, and has been with that carrier for approximately fourteen years rising from Material Damage Appraiser, to Material Damage Supervisor, and to his current position as a Property Supervisor.
Ed is I-car Platinum certified. He is a court certified Expert in the areas of Physical Damage. In addition he also holds numerous certificates from various training programs. Ed is well regarded by his peers throughout the industry, and has inspired many individuals to pursue a career in the appraising industry.
